Aeron Coast is situated in Aberaeron, a coastal harbour town. The park is 500 metres from the town centre which is well served with shops to meet most every-day needs including fresh fruit and vegetables and pharmacies. There are numerous cafes and restaurants, many with outdoor seating. There are local taxi services, mobility scooters can be hired locally and a bus stop at the park entrance includes coastal routes running both north and south.
The park is relatively flat with only a slight gradient. The steepest gradient is at the top of the touring field. Roads and pedestrian routes are tarmacked. Roads have speed humps for safety.
At the bottom of the park is a gate for pedestrians, leading to a coastal walk into the town. There are 14 shallow steps to exit the park. The main entrance for vehicles and pedestrians is at the top of the park. There is a petrol station and shop at the park entrance, stocking basic supplies.
Assistance dogs are welcome across the park.
Throughout the park are large roll-topped wheely bins for household waste.
Staff are available to help customers with specific needs.
The park includes c. 200 sited caravans which are privately owned and cannot be rented out. Owners, with the agreement of park management, put in appropriate steps to access their caravans. Each of the sited caravans have parking places directly to the side, on grass standing.
All pitches have parking alongside or directly in front. There are c. 32 hard standing pitches, with the remainder being grassed.
There are closely situated spacious, toilet and shower block facilities with ramped access for ease of use. There are no raised lips and doors are self-closing. Door handles are standard height. There is a spacious disabled toilet and shower facility with ground floor access and grab rails.
There is a laundry facility, accessed by climbing 4 steps. There is a 90 degree turn and a further step to access the laundry through a standard door size.
The washing machines and dryers are all front loading.
Chemical disposal points are all ground level with no lips. Washing areas are raised and accessed by a small number of steps. Handrails are available.
The Office, where customers check-in, is accessed through a standard door size and there is a small lip to enter. Alternatively, there is a window where customers can check-in without needing to enter the office.
There is ramped access to the members-only Club House. The Club House is all on one level. Door entrances are standard size. There is no parking immediately outside the Club House. Contactless payment systems at the Club House and Office mean customers don’t have to pay at counters and staff are available to personally explain site facilities, menus etc for the visually impaired.
There is an entertainments area all on one level. This includes games rooms for children and an evening entertainments room. The games rooms can be accessed through external, standard size doors. There are no internal doors. The Aeron Room can be accessed through a double door.
There is ramped access to the outdoor swimming pools. The pools are un-supervised so customers must take responsibility for supervising their party. Those under 15 years of age must be supervised at all times. Safety notices are displayed around the pools.
The tennis courts, football and basketball areas and children’s sandpit are all at floor level without a lip.
